If I can't go I want someone else to take my place. I bought the ticket knowing I'd miss a couple - already factored in to my decision to buy. If the club makes extra money - great, contract extension for Woody.
I had to have an operation on the 30th August meaning I missed the first and second home games of the season. I was gutted the op date landed when it did, but if I could give my season ticket to someone I would have done for the benefit of the club.
In regards to facilities, Bromley used to have a lager, bitter, and cider pop up bar that was far quicker than queuing at the main bar, why don’t they bring this back?
Another idea is what they do at festivals which is is to pre pour the standard drinks before KO and HT, that way you walk to the bar, pay, and walk away without waiting in those massive queues. I attended the EFL cup game against Wimbledon but didn’t spend any money in the bar due to the wait, despite queuing for 30 minutes before giving up pre game, and also at HT before the game kicked off again.
Anyway the foot is getting better so I should be back this weekend.
I couldn't attend the Wimbledon game, I would have been happy for my season ticket to have been used by someone else for that game if they had made the option available as they have for the Notts County game. Im not expecting to miss many more games, Im hoping Ill miss none.
I missed the Wimbledon game (the league schedulers didn't consult me before releasing the fixtures). I respect other people's views, but if I'd had the option, I would have happily given up my season ticket so that someone else could enjoy the game.
That said, if the club are going to profit handsomely from selling the same ticket twice, it seems fair to offer season ticket holders a voucher or something. Perhaps £5 to spend in Broomfields or club shop? It keeps it all in the club and it might encourage people to give up unused tickets more willingly.
For what it's worth, I haven't bothered with a half-time beer at Hayes Lane in well over a decade. Fans walking off to the bar on 35 minutes baffles me. Pre-pour is the answer to the queues but for some reason they don't do it.
There are some who will say why do we fret so much about off field activities and ideas, such as this,to help fund the club/team.
If any of my other favoured teams,Holmesdale,Cray or even Millwall asked to sell my ticket twice would I agree ? Well yes I’d probably be happy to,so what is it with Bromley that raises so much angst ?
Well for me personally I have just lost my Winter heating allowance at a time when fuel bills are set to rise, but I probably wont freeze to death, inflation outstrips my pension but i’ll get by,the clutch has just gone on my 20 year old car but i’ll forgo a few things to pay for it,my house, which I built, now needs work that I can no longer manage.
I’ll get by but here’s the issue. There is a perception around the Club that all is not transparent !
1800 s/t missing from the Crewe sell out, really ! The club socials banging on to a boasting level about Sponsors and Hospitality. The Chairman roaming the grounds in his video claiming £££’s from the £Billionaire Lady who’s floating in the background !
Then I rock up at Hayes Lane and the players and Directors car park is awash with motors to die for,if your into such stuff, though the Chairmans Ferrari hasnt been around for a
while !
An oily plea from our chairman for help just dont cut it with me,even at my age i’m expecting to outlive his tenure and hope to see the legacy he leaves behind.
You want to sell my ticket twice, how about you come and cut my grass and help me out.
Being a non-season ticket holder, and someone who lives remotely from Bromley, I would welcome your suggestion for Option 2 (resale via Ticketmaster). Not just me, but a friend resident in the borough was bemused why he couldn't get a ticket for either home league game.
I live near Bath, and when not watching Bromley I attempt to watch Bath Rugby (who also has capacity issues). They also use Ticketmaster, but with the rugby the option rests with the season ticket holder to release their seat or standing space back to Ticketmaster for any nominated game. The club will provide a credit (less a percentage fee, of course) and the seat is resold at full value for that one game - but at an inflated price. The STH receives a bonus and the club gains from the revenue. Whats the problem, Bromley? It strikes me that the more professional they are getting on the pitch, the less so off it.
I do not hold the view that every game ‘costs’ a ST holder £13 (£299/23). You can’t buy a ticket to a game for £13 so why quote it. It is just a mathematical average. Rather, a ST gets you 15 tickets at £20 each and a further 8 tickets for free. So, when not attending a game you give up one of your free tickets for no compensation and the club gets the chance to sell it for revenue.
Maybe I expressed my opinion unclearly. 23 games @ £20 is £460. So a ST @£299 is a discount of £161, so when I don’t attend a game the club tries to sell a ticket to recoup £20 of that discount. I like your link to Wimbledon.

Sound decision in my opinion.

A/ We’re not Premier League
B/ I bought a ST to stop the faffing about with Ticketmaster.
C/ Sorry to be cynical, it’s got nothing to do with atmosphere and everything to do with revenue.
D/ The email written prior to school holidays and the general holiday season finishing.
E/ Setting up a refund system was never mentioned, which immediately shows the clubs underhand intention.
F/ Setting up a refund system through Ticketmaster…….ha ha

This the way to do it. Open and honest communication that you can’t help but agree with.

Dress it up how you like, but by paying in advance you get a discounted ticket for each game.
