Seen it so often that these players can't cope when they come down to the National League due to the tippy-tappy stuff they get taught at that level, proper football when they start to move down the ladder
If agent would just get with the script and allow their 'clients' to get more robust experience earlier on maybe so many players wouldnt drop out the game (at a high level) so quickly.
Just watched our on loan Haman left back at Sutton and he really put in a shift and seems to be enjoying stepping up to this level. Takes corners, always available, covers a lot of ground , gets stuck in looking forward to seeing him blossom.
Yes I think he was very good and I totally understand why Andy would bring him in to allow Corey to go into the #10 role. It will add a greater attacking threat in more areas of the pitch
Interesting following young academy players that are full of promise but get found out when they play big boys football in front of a crowd.
Both Pavey and Philpott where ‘bigged up’ by their agents and fell flat at Bromley.
Both seem to have found a level now.
I’m hoping Olaofe has applied himself better and has followed a route under Gary Rowett’s management now on the bench at Millwall having served his time to great effect at Sutton.
The value of a good Mentor when your heads spinning with £££’s cant be underestimated.
Louis got found out at Pompey by Kenny Jacket when his head got turned by agents and now has to start again.
A very small % of academy kids will make it big or any living at all so important that they continue their education alongside their football dreams
Excellent Mash, getting to grips with a very good subject. It’s a dilemma for these young players, but if agents explained that it’s a part of their apprenticeship on the learning curve to bigger and better things, they would benefit enormously.
Frankie Sutherland is now a football agent. Clients include Cheek and Coulson. There’s another agent who looks after Sablier and Sowunmi, I can’t remember his name but Mark Hammond knows him.
Aaah Mash you smashed it. The existing senior Academy system is flawed, too many fail after 3,4,5 years then go out of the game. Bromley’s open door policy allows us and any rejects to have a mixed squad of experience homegrown and allows acquisitions from higher level Clubs. Needs to happen more.
Cheers Ian. Yep it definitely needs to happen more which is why Andy is 100% right to question the motives and desire of agents.
I fully expect Harry Forster to go back into the EFL with or without us - he has befitted massively from leaving/being released from the Watford U23 set up.

Yeah I agree with most of this.
It's interesting they have decided to loan out Alex Mitchell again.
They are very strong defensively with Hutchinson and Cooper and have also just bought in Cresswell from Leeds so clearly dont think Mitchell is ready.
Gap to the Championship top half is growing.

I need to get a football agent to grant me an interview so I can understand the process from their point of view

I had no idea that's who Frankie had in his stable - would also make sense why I've heard some rumours.
