A good summary Machel. I think it is a great achievement to be mid table in league two, our budget I expect is one of the lowest. Judged by the size of our attendances this would not be surprising. I believe Andy Woodman is key to what we are achieving, in the way we are set up and play. However we will need to evolve into a slightly better passing team to progress or even stay still in mid table. Eventually teams work you out and we will need to add extra strings to our bow.

We have to be realistic and realise that at present, our setup and ground are not at league one level and I wouldn't want us to do a Forest Green and drop two divisions. I think we are doing great, my fear is if AW was tempted elsewhere.

I agree AW won’t be short of offers with what he’s done on a shoestring here.

Another quality analysis Mach, thank you. As easy a 3 points as possible against a very poor team, but put them away professionally as we should. Yes we’re now safe in EFL Division 2, but for me the next couple of seasons will be do or die. History shows us the bigger boys (Wrexham, Lincoln, Stockport, Orient etc) progress, whereas the newer boys (Harrogate, Sutton etc) stagnate or worse. Can we break that mould without breaking the bank? Can we become the rookie that pushes on? I’m optimistic but also a little concerned about next season. That said, these are heady days for Bromley FC and all connected so let’s enjoy it!

Great read as always Mash, would be more than happy to consolidate our foundations in the League. Next year will be tougher as teams now know what we are about so another mid table finish would be nothing to sniff at. Think there’s some really special brewing here, the squad togetherness is our biggest strength, and that’s mostly down to AW but also keeping the core of the squad.

Didn’t think I’d ever see us move away from the 3 / 5 at the back but think a back 4 of Grant/Jenkinson Sowumni Elerewe Odutayo is very very strong, with Smith in goal, in my opinion it’s one of the best in the league.

Big test will be replacing the dynamism of Congreve and Imray, that turn of pace and skill will be hard to find but again AW can find these gems. Lastly, content has really gone up a notch this season, absolutely loving it!

I think it's been a memorable season , we have not looked like being in the bottom 6 ( not that I expected we would ) & as you say Newcastle, what an experience. I would like to keep Kamarl he had a sticky patch but has come through it & is versatile. I would happily settle for another mid table finish next season , we need to get the stadium capacity up before any promotion aspirations .

I will wait with baited breath for the next particularly bad Bromley performance now that I know the feeling you get is officially called ‘giddly goolies’😂

Sorry to be the villain again, Mr Hewitt, but your ratings are ridiculously over generous again. No one deserved 10 out of 10 against desperately poor opponents. Not 100% sure, but don’t think the wonderfully talented Jude Bellingham has ever had one of those!. I’m also hoping you’re wrong re Sowumni and Elerewe as a winning combination next season. The former is nowhere near the player he was in his first stint at Hayes Lane (which is probably why Sutton let him go) and I still have nagging doubts and Elerewe’s long term fitness (which is definitely why Charlton let him go). Did anyone notice him rubbing his hamstring again, particularly at Newport. That said, this has been a wonderful season - a massive success in my book - and if AW stays it could be even better next term - with at least two new defenders of a similar calibre to Carl Jenkinson. The gaffer realised from the word go that tippy tappy football and trying to play out from the back would get us nowhere at this level, and while some other League Two managers looked down their noses we now look down at them in the league table for getting their teams to try to copy others who will literally always be playing in a different league. AW has been shrewdly realistic from the start and we have enjoyed the fruits as a result. And long may that continue.

The ratings are what they are - It's not that deep. I give it about 10 seconds thought I encourage you to do the same.

Have done so, dear, chap, and as a retired journalist with more than four decades of experience I respectfully suggest you do the same before you deliver such verdicts. Ratings are very important - particularly to players, as I found out - which is why so many national newspapers and media outlets have used them for years, and I’m saddened to hear you only give them a few seconds of your time. So can you spare a few seconds to think more realistically again on this? Apart from that, thanks again for your insight and enthusiastic comments every week. I enjoy them, honest.
