I was watching the same game as you, I’m guessing their boss was just feeling very frustrated and wasn’t thinking clearly just after the final whistle! I thought it was a well deserved win in the end, Gateshead were really impressive in the 1st half. I’ve not seen a team play that way where Tinkler literally just stood on the ball and waited...and waited! Credit to AW for working out how to counter their style of play. As is standard it seems, Smith was unbeatable, and I thought we were the better side in the 2nd half. Cheek’s finishing is so clinical at the moment and, like you, I was really impressed with Bim when he came on. I see a lot of our supporters are moaning about the sending off but I’ve got no complaints with it. The ref was totally justified with the first booking for timewasting and he wasn’t really left with a choice with the second. I’m sure it wasn’t deliberate but he caught their player flush in the face so it looked inevitable Leigh would get sent off. Massive test now on Tuesday night, I’m not expecting anything from it but if we can nick a point that would be fantastic
You are spot on with your match summary. They definitely “bossed” the first half and I was relieved when the half time whistle blew. We were clearly the better team in the second half converting opportunities into goals, which ultimately is what matters. Tonight’s match away to Chesterfield will be a tough game but if we play as we did in the second half of Saturday’s game I’m confident we can do well. Also we’ve got Grant Smith.
Missed the game so have only had a chance to watch the highlights and post match comments, so my thoughts should be viewed through that lense.
First thought on the red card was no chance, but on a second viewing he clearly catches the lad. Obviously no intent, but as we've seen in the PL this season, "intent" seems to be less important than the outcome (which perhaps is a good thing).
Not just you Mash, Dean Brennan felt the same with our interviewer after the Kiddy win at the weekend. Saying that there are times when I've felt certain Barnet players have been off the pace, then going into Dean's office, saying that when asked and then when he trots out 'we asked X, Y, and to do this, that and the other' and then you think back and realise they did exactly that, not everyone gets that insight.
As Bromley fans we are all loving this purple patch of results. However we must be honest, we got away with that one yesterday, with respect to AW, the first half pressure had us under the cosh and we certainly wouldn’t have made the change if it hadn’t. Second half they had what seemed a reasonable goal disallowed, the most impressive striker I’ve seen for some time scored, and they had a screamer hit the bar so hard it rebounded out to the 18 yard line. I call it the same as you Mash, a game of 2 halves, we got the luck.
We’ll get into that argument about big robust Scary 36 year old centre halves having to have pace verses the occasional decent ‘defence splitting’ ball 🙂

I agree your comments and Andy got tactics spot on. How valuable Cheek is as evidenced by his absence at Solihull. Keep up the good work

Football is certainly a funny game. No wonder managers think fans dont know what we're talking about or do we?

I thought all that was spot on till I saw you’d only given Webster a 7.
The number of blocks and saving challenges first half, then rising like a Salmon for the goal they had to chase.
But you know I like him so 🙂👍
I meant to give him 8 but forgot to change it. That said because Dinanga got away from him for the goal maybe I was right?
