Thought that Fela was class on Tuesday night. It's all very well pressing, but he was pressing *with intent* and forcing errors from the backline. The only thing I have for the bad is the attitude of some of the fans in the North stand.
This league is tough, and us *staying up* would be a massive achievement for the club. But you'd think we should be top of the league the way some fans moan about every wayward pass, or every extended spell of Chesterfield possession. These are good teams at this level, and the fact that we've been *in* every game should be something to cheer about, not moan.
The negative attitude of some North Terrace contingent baffles me, too. I can kind of understand it when it's some of the newer faces as they probably haven't seen Bromley struggle before, but when the bile spills from faces I've seen around the club for decades...
I don't think it's just a North Terrace problem - the crowd on the East Terrace behind the dugouts are particularly harsh critics. Always have been. Statler and Waldorf tribute acts galore over there.
Perhaps we've all been a little spoiled over the last decade.
That really was an unfortunate and out of character error from Grant Smith. And something that the manager can't legislate for. At this level, individual errors are likely to be fully punished.
Re Danny Imray, I've watched him develop through the Palace Academy. I believe he originally started out as a fully fledged winger but has transitioned into the wing back position. I think he's better as a wing back. His strength is his ability to run with the ball from deep so I wouldn't play him higher up the pitch.
As for the result, again I'm saying respect the point. The group are still finding out that they have to play to the maximum every minute of every game at this level. I'm sure some will find two successive home draws as being disappointing but in truth I felt both were fair results.
I think most of what’s good about Chesterfield stems from their captain and CB Jamie Grimes, he orchestrates the whole team and is one of those reliable defenders who is in total control.
The biggest problem as I see it is concentration, it’s almost inevitable that we score early and then just capitulate and let the opposition back into the game, it needs addressing and I’m sure AW and AD will be doing just that.
I am sure Josh Thomas is a very good footballer, however with Danny Imray having a game where the left back didn’t know if he was on foot or horse back, surely Levi Amantchi would have been the better impact sub late in the game to make use of all those telling crosses Imray was making.
I agree, he is a busy player, and it must be said an effective one. I just think when he was subbed it should have been Levi who replaced him. As busy as Olomola is, Levi is one of those disruptive players who with fresh legs can cause havoc.
We never seem to agree, Machel, do we? I’ve always thought your players’ markings are way over generous. I’m with you all the way on Smith, who has been a stalwart for us. So why give him only 5 out of 10 when you gave Reynolds, whose indecision was as much responsible for Chesterfield’s second goal as Smith was, a 7 rating even he must have been surprised at. And that’s the second consecutive game he’s cost us a goal. Mr Reynolds is definitely not a EFL standard player in my book. Spot on with Imray, though; great going forward and man of the match on Tuesday even if he does need a defender behind to plug all the gaps he leaves when he goes marauding. Very pleased for Fela on Tuesday as well. Never stops grafting, but like Reynolds I suspect he’ll finish the season in the National League. All of which leads me to Josh Thomas, a striker who is first choice for Wales U21 side, but for some reason isn’t considered good enough to start a game for us. Beats me, to be honest, and don’t be surprised if Swansea recall him cos he simply isn’t getting the game time they expected he would at Bromley. Finally to Cheeky. I’m an atheist really but I’ve actually thanked God our talisman is 33 and, as you point out out, probably too old to be lured away. Frankly, I don’t know what we’d do without him. Same can be said for the hardy souls who’ll make the long trek to Fleetwood on Saturday. Heroes ones and all.

It is the most bizarre thing about following this club in the last 5-10 years. An outrageous sense of entitlement

Machel. That is why you get paid the big bucks and others just have opinions! Your ratings and analysis are usually spot on.
I need more of these big bucks!!! Thank you for reading Isa

I’m still waiting to see what Josh Thomas can do - 15 mins from the bench when the job was to secure a point is difficult
I think Olomola has now earnt the right to keep his spot.

I cant disagree with that

Player markings arent meant to be taken uber seriously tbh. They are the last thing I think about.
The second goal wouldnt have happened if Smith cleared the ball - he knows that as well as I do.
Andy operates on the maxim that you have to earn the shirt - so Josh has to wait his time until Olomola no longer has the right.
