I said to a number of people after the game “don’t think that Notts County are a given for promotion”.

There are some big games in the playoffs this season, our result against Chesterfield will send shockwaves through the playoff teams, Bromley are the form team with a fit squad. AW is confident, the team are confident and do you know what, after writing us off 2 months ago, I’m confident.

Excellent interview with Andy. A great performance. Was right behind Billy when he struck it what a great strike! Was fearing the worst after Stirk went off but boy does this team have character. We were under the cosh the first 20 minutes but always believed. Never in doubt after Billy's strike. Could have had several more with Cheeky's penalty miss, Jude had a great chance and Louis was denied by a last gasp block. Chesterfield lost their mojo in the end. Roll on the play-offs we should fear noone. Deji was immense.

I can definitely see us winning the eliminator or having a fare chance it will be the away semi-final that will be the major concern.

Mash, you've been spot on all season with your assessment of where Bromley needed to be. Consistent is Andy Woodman, great stat I have to say, better than I expected to read, maybe not talked about as much compared to some because many expect him to have Bromley there?

It's a weird one cos I rarely hear Bromley spoken about in non-league circles as contenders - maybe I'm not following the right people.

If you speak to Bromley fans though their are a significant number who did not believe he was good enough to get Bromley in the playoffs.

The whole thing is bizarre.

I think some loyalty to Smudger is in there, I think also the fact when he was sacked the club was in the play off places if I remember rightly? Some would probably argue the club hasn't moved any further forward beyond the play offs despite also adding the FA Trophy as well.

Would possibly point at AW touting himself around for other jobs didn't go down too well either, his record speaks for itself but football fans have long memories, we last longer than any player or manager :)

All of that 100% plays a role but to be fair the FA Trophy for a club of Bromley's size (given it was done against Wrexham) was a major thing.

Smudge is my guy but I have to be fair and Andy's record in the league is seriously impressive.

2 playoffs and a FA Trophy in 3 seasons - most clubs in the league would kill for that

Spot on mate, we know how fickle fans can be though lol, few of ours wanted Dean out in October, didn't have a clue apparently, singing a different tune now however......

A great read as always.

I wanted to drop a comment on Bingham.

While it seems that he can't get through a full season anymore, I don't think anyone offers the level of control he does when he's on the pitch.

Stirk is a great foil - but Vennings is tidy on the ball, and Jude is perhaps getting onto the end of a cross, but I don't think either can offer what Bingham does on his day.
