Interesting summary and as usual I would concur but add the pre planning for such an event was obviously found wanting ie turnstiles issues/ tickets not working/ Wrexham not taking up their allocation ( thank the Lord). Next time have a “think tank” of interested supporters to help decide best practice. All said, great day, great on pitch effort and proud of our boys ,but we got away with this one off the pitch.
I came away from the game annoyed (mostly at what I felt was a poor officiating performance), but as you've pointed out, we never really looked like *beating* this Wrexham side.
The squad is so young, and the fact that they're performing so well is testament to them and the whole coaching staff, but I do worry that we don't have many old pros in the ranks to help guide them. You look at that Wrexham side (and yes, they've spent the money) and there are a lot of hardened, experienced players to help drag that side over the line when they don't play well.
Off the pitch... well, not much to say here. I was in the East Stand throughout so could only see the mass of Bromley fans stood outside and clogging up the area outside Broomfields.
The other thing that concerned me was just how quiet the place felt, even with the 5000~ fans in. Wrexham didn't bring as many as we thought, but they sung and were loud all game. Outside of the celebration of Cheek's goal, it really was a library.
Completely agree about the atmosphere and it's why I made the point about Bromley fans all 4k+ of them had more than enough of the ground to make a real raucous atmosphere. That never really transpired.
However a lot of the fans who came to the game possibly werent regular Bromley fans. That would have a massive impact on an organic atmosphere being created
Hi Machel. Thanks once again. What was interesting to me was the amount of interest in this game. To see over 4,000 Bromley fans and I believe there were more who couldn't get tickets testifies to the potential for the club to grow. Let's hope RSG puts some of that extra income into the First team next season. I know Wrexham were tough to play against but still felt the final ball was lacking as has been the case in our last few games. The squad is decent and it is easy to forget how young these guys are. Forster, Vennings and Arthurs seem to have been playing forever and they all will improve with experience. I don't think we will pick up Stirk as Mansfield put in an offer to Birmingham last season and was refused. Hopefully we can can Dese though as we have such a lack of pace in the centre back positions. Still in it if we can win the 2 games in hand we would only be 5 points off Eastleigh.!
Yep it was only when Louis came on that the final ball significantly improved. He looked like he had a point to prove.
I would say the next two games basically look like must wins (Yeovil will be very difficult) - athough there have been so many twists and turns in the top 10 that anything is possible
I arrived at 2.15 and had no problem entering with my concession season ticket. The normal east terrace area did not feel overcrowded but it was clear there were problems elsewhere
Yep this is why I made the point about moving people. I was opposite the east terrace and could see clear spaces available - but they remained unfilled through the majority of the game.

Off the pitch was a lucky escape - no two ways. Hubris is the only conclusion I can draw and the blind desire to set a record.
Nailed it dude. Spot on summary on and off the pitch.
Cheers Col - was mindful of trying to strike the right tone with this one.
Can't help but agree with this.

Thanks for reading Nick.
