I thought Barrow looked comfortable in the first half. Olu and Levi up top are willing runners, but there is a lack of quality and guile to their play. So no meaningful hold up play and the ball too easily turned over to the opposition. Either would benefit from having a more accomplished partner up front with them.
I hoped Woody would make the half time changes that he did, and now Barrow had something to think about.
It started to look as though the game was passing Bromley by despite the improvement. So the penalty was an unexpected lifeline. I can understand the Barrow managers frustration, but walking the width of the pitch after his red card was gamesmanship. Good to see that Cheeky was able to hold his nerve and convert with such conviction.
To sum up, that was a hard earned but ultimately I think, deserved point.
Thought Kamarl was by far the best of the centre backs , some good interceptions & won a lot of duels . Also thought Corey did well especially as he had to help Thompson out in 2nd half as Congreve doesn't seem to cover much ground . Credit for keeping on until the end & that terrific save from Smith was crucial at 1-0 . Quite enjoyed game .
As far as officals go Saturday reminded me of the beginning of last season when they cracked down on dissent etc. The assistant referee's have been poor all season, they don't help themselves or the referee. Too much shirt pulling etc and set piece management is a mess.
Cheek and Olufela a decent partnership - we have yet to see Dinanga
Two questions when you next quiz the manager, Machel. Why have Deji Elerewe (brilliant for us last season) and Josh Thomas (highly rated by Swansea and Wales) seemingly been consigned to oblivion?
Tends to confirm what Charlton fans claim that the Addicks only let us have Deji because they felt he has a career threatening hamstring problem. But Thomas?

Came to the site after hearing you on the Brunton Bugle - good and fair write up of the Barrow game, nice one.

Will do re: Josh
Deji has been injured since pre season .
