Funnily enough I thought Jonny Williams after watching the game - still looks a serious cut above league 2 - he could mange the game more effectively than most in the league. I don’t think Krauhaus would help himself leaving base so early after returning from injury.

My slightly different take where the CMs are concerned is that, of the four options, I would only consider Jude the 'destroyer' (and the team seems all the better for that). Leigh and Charles can break up play, but their strength is as technicians/ballers. You asked if there were any destroyer/creator hybrids in League Two, well, I'd say we have one in Thompson. He loves a tackle and can earn a yard and ping a pass. If there was another midfielder out there like him (maybe six inches taller), I'd snap them up.

I get the feeling that, having seen how effective Jude and Thompson are as a hard-tackling duo, Andy has gone off the boil on the technical charms of Leigh and Charles. The fact he didn't rotate at least one of them into the side against Swindon suggests as much. I'd be surprised if they're not seeking a loan move as we speak.

This is a valid take and I considered not using the term destroyer. Upon reflection our style is destroyer rather than the players.

So further to what you say Thompson and Arthurs play because they are more used to what is required but even when we make the change - the style doesnt change if you catch my drift?

Agree, it's always a like-for-like swap in midfield in terms of their assignments. Square pegs in round holes? Possibly.

PS just how good did Deji look tonight!

It was absurd how good Deji was

With the Gills imploding could we go in for Jonny Williams! Kent/SEL local and the best player on the pitch tonight

I think he has his injury concerns but I assume Gills wouldn't want to lose him

Getting Ben K back on loan would give us options. Keeping Danny Imray feels crucial. Controversial- but I’d like big Conor Wilkinson from Solihull to play as foil to Cheeky. Cliched- but good touch for a big man, gets amongst the goals and a (relatively) local lad- think he’s from Croydon.

I thought about Connor Wilkinson but would require serious wedge to prize him away.

Has the club considered cloning Michael Cheek?

The trouble is that his strength in the air dictates so much of our style. Levi seems very Peter Crouch - prefers the ball on the ground despite his height - while.other options are more 'run in behind'. Unless Andy is willing to make.major adjustments to our style, we need a Cheek clone in case Cheek original picks up a knock or needs a rest.

100% agree. So much is dictated by our talisman. The only thing I can see is if we get a run off the ball striker who actually scores regularly.

Depending on what happens with Kamarl, we might need to sign someone to play his role.

Kamarl is expected to stay
